There was an uneasy truce in the war. Forces were placed and destroyed. Scouts
sighted traders on mysterious missions, and then vaporized. Everyone was waiting,
waiting for the storm to break.
Word of the truce did not reach all Anla'shok members. Bravely, Boldly, Blum and
Zaphron attacked a Willow planet alone. They found that braveness and boldness are
no replacement for common sense :)
Two killings Occurred during the truce, one with a twist. Die-Trying killed a Marine
recruit, but Die claimed he was across town in an unsavoury dive, sleeping off the
effects of Area 51 (and two deaths :). Records indicate he was indeed not in the
area. He changed the keys to the Warship, and resumed his brooding.
The Marines and Anla'shok began to probe into Alskant Space. Shortly before the
scheduled end of the truce, the ran across a Willow member.

Then, the Marine war machine turned to Willow.

They swung from Creonti to Thevian. Perhaps because their probes into Alskant had
found strong Willow defenses. Perhaps because of a respect for the mysterious Area
51.
The immediately found and engaged the Willow fighters, who swarmed into the
galaxy to defend. The Marines began one of their feared planetary sieges. The Willow
defenders rushed shields to the planet, running the Marine blockade. Around the
fringes of the siege, fierce ship to ship combat ensued, with ships and squadrons
wheeling through the Thevian vacuum.

The Marines had a slight edge in the brutal combat. But they were unable to take the
planet. The foolhardy Willow defenders continued to shuttle in shields, and the
Marines had to restock. Willow anticipated this, and at the UNO, the Marines were
met by a Willow Squadron.

Both sides were exhausted. The Marines retired having failed to take the planet, and
having lost their leader Rodger Young and their Minister of Diplomacy, Maniakes.
Willow held a slight edge in kills, though with this many casualties, no one wins. They
too were bloodied, mourning their fallen comrades.
But, Willow had a reserve of strength and determination the Marine/Anla'shok
alliance may not have expected. They rallied their battered forces for one more
push. This time against the Marine's allies, Anla'shok.
