In the Beginning - The Cuivinen Galaxy
by Gir Draxon

On the Bridge of the "Transcendent", Speef Midnight Special.

Lord Speef looks out on the main screen, viewing the universe as it is.

Two twinklings appear behind him, and two cloaked beings form into existence behind him.

They kneel and Lord Speef turns around to face them.

Speef: Rise... well?

The large Ik-Thorne form rises.

Dover: The universe is degenerating as you suspect my lord. It is beginning.

Speef nods and turns back to the main screen as a slow wave of red begins to encircle all the systems on the main screen.

The other cloaked being rises, this one the slighter form.

Gir: Panic has ensued, they have broken into the Anarchy silos and begun a fullscale war.

Speef: I know. It was bound to happen eventually.

Speef sighed tiredly, but managed a brief smile.

Dover: My lord? Sector destabilization is beginning to reach critical mass. What should we do?

Speef: Nothing. I have expected this and prepared for the day.

Spinning quickly, Speef brought his hand forward into a fist and became covered in a blue aura.

Dover and Gir watched the main screen as the universe they knew began to shrink to a small section of the screen.

1501, the Valheru sector, glowed briefly, then in a splitsecond, lines of light spread out into the darkness of the main screen away from the rapidly crumbling old universe.

Speef: Behold disciples!

With coruscating light new stars formed and splintered and formed more lines of light as Gir and Dover fell back from the increasing light.

And the newer, stronger universe leapt across the black screen with incredible speed.

And before anyone realized it, it stopped.

Now the Main screen had a red, rapidly fading old universe in a small fraction of the screen, but the remaining section was vibrant and a bright blue!

There were no multiple galaxies, but the new galaxy encompassed the older universe totally.

Small yellow and white dots began to circle the new sectors as planets, ports, and beacons of ultimate protection began to come into existence all over the galaxy.

Speef staggered, and gripped the bridge railing. Dover stepped forward to offer support but Speef waved him away.

Speef: It is done... My disciples, my angels, go into the old universe, and gather the souls of TrueSpirits (players), and bring them to the Nexus of the Cuivienen Galaxy.

Speef: They will be confused... for I have made this new galaxy better.

Speef: But I have faith that the strong ones will adapt and learn.

Speef sat heavily into his command chair as Gir and Dover bowed, turned around and faded into the wall.

Speef looked around the empty bridge, smiled, and said, "And now... it begins... again!"

*** Aboard the USS-Redundant ***Evil_Santa: If those Merry Killers don't get us, that super nova will!Cpt. Evil Santa struggled to get to the navigation panel about his Anarchy Special, but a falling column landed between him and his destination. His eyes turned to the main screen as the shockwave of the supernova destroyed his adversary and came closer to him.

A cloaked being formed into existence behind him.

Dirt: No it ain't you freak.

Dirt laid a glove on Evil_Santa's shoulder and they both faded just as the forcewave hit Santa's ship.

*** On Planet Caïssa ***

"The shockwave will be here within a couple minutes, Amazonia. All Yellow Moon members are in the shelters." Said the comms officer.

"Not like it'll do any good…" she muttered as she checked the other monitors and watched troops, merchants, and civilians streaming into the heavily shielded silos… silos that would do no good when the planet was cracked open and eaten by the expanding star. Amazonia looked helplessly as the shockwave came close and closer, encompassing all and leaving nothing behind it that would survive a star's furnace.

"In a way, it’s very pretty. Nature is most beautiful when it’s at its most powerful." Came a voice behind her.

Amazonia spun around to see a cloaked figure whose cloak brooch was the symbol of Speef.

"Who are you?" she asked hesitantly.

"A friend, and a saviour…" he said and took a step forward.

"You are going to save all of us?" she said, still trying to place the voice to a name.

The figure stopped, looked around, and replied, "No Amazonia, just you and the other Yellow Moon TrueSpirits…"

Amazonia turned to the monitors, "What about all those people? The children and civilians and…"

A gloved hand rested on her shoulder, and the figure replied, "They will be back in one form or the other. Speef can raise them, he cannot raise you. Rest now."

Amazonia tried to speak again but fell against the figure.

Gir looked around and double-checked the entire planet in a blink of an eye. Xian had grabbed the remaining Yellow Moon members already. He picked up Amazonia and faded from existence before the shockwave tore the planet apart.

*** Aboard the EoS Slave III ***

Elvis Fett: Well, it wasn't the way I planned it, but I'm gonna die one of the best.

Nariis: We'll die together at least.

A large cloaked being appears behind them as the sector hyperspace link begins to lose stability around them.

Dover: Heh, you think it’s over?

Both veterans spun around, weapons ready.

Dover just smiled and EF and Nariis fell to the ground asleep.

Dover smiled again as he picked them both up and teleported.

*** EoS Slave III, MIA between 338 and 319 ***

And thus the disciples of Speef flew faster than light and gathered the struggling TrueSpirits from the failing universe.

Gathering the souls of Those Who Are Not Speef, they returned to 1501, Valheru Galaxy.

As the disciples knelt before Lord Speef, he took their pouches, each laden with TrueSpirits at rest, and walked from the bridge.

He traveled slowly, almost reverently down the halls of the Transcendent, and felt pangs of agony as even 1501 began to collapse around the Transcendent.

He finally reached the Nexus, the very being of existence, and its name was Zeus.

<><><><> Universe Generation Complete... Ready for TrueSpirit infusion... <><><><>

A small compartment opened and a small tray slid out of the massive computer core.

Speef began opening the pouches one by one and drew out globes of light, looking at each of them in kind, whispering a name, smiling, and placing it on the tray.

And when he was done he waved and the tray slid in and the compartment closed.

<><><><> Infusion process started... 4 minutes remaining. <><><><>

Speef turned around to find his disciples waiting for him.

Dover: Boss, its time to go. The Transcendent's shields are down.

Speef: Almost done here old friend. Almost done.

they all stood and watched the progress indicator on Zeus slowly fill up.

While they all concentrated on buffering the Transcendent from the ravages of space/time collapse.

<><><><> 100% Complete, Danger imminent. Transcendent II available and online in sector 2501.

Speef staggered again, but his disciples quickly grabbed him and faded from existence.

<><><><> Transcendent structural integrity 12%... 4%... 1%................

and in a flash of light, there was nothing.

*** Transcendent II, Cuivienen Galaxy ***

Speef woke up with a start, sitting in a comfortable, but new chair.

Speef: Well?

Dover: Success of course. DUH!

Speef laughed, and the disciples laughed with him as they all looked and gazed at wonder at the new fresh galaxy that await the TrueSpirits that were probably just waking up after being seeded across the VASTNESS of the Cuivienen Galaxy.

Dirt: Damn, Joebob14 is trying to replicate himself and make money. I gotta take care of this.

Xian: I'll come with ya kid!

Dover: Man look at the Public Net light up... I'm behind already and its only been five minutes!

Speef: GO! Our friends need us!

the disciples began to joke amongst themselves and they began running off to the tasks that were still so elemental to them.

Speef sank back into his chair deep in thought, and for the first time in a long time, closed his eyes and began to rest...
