Cubit Designs is a small software business that was started by Gay Crawford in 1986. Its main focus currently is
website design, creation and administration. As a second focus, it is involved in custom programming for 3D-
environments and virtual worlds.
Gay Crawford has been involved with computers and programming since the early 1980's, where she led a
Kansas City area computer support group for four years. She was the CoSysop of a long-running and popular
Kansas City Bulletin Board System, assisted a local hospital in developing software for a disabled-persons
support program, and had works published in national computer magazines. As a group manager for Delphi/KC,
Gay maintained KCUR-FM's schedule site. She joined Net 2 Business, LLC in February 1997, where she
developed and managed websites until early 2001.
She has been involved with the development and administration of websites for a variety of businesses,
organizations and individuals, including a school, a church, a furniture store, a florist, a seminar organizer, a
cryotechnology company, a candy manufacturer, a photographer, a health care employer, an artist, a minister,
and an employee assessment business. Current websites can be seen on the Portfolio page.
Gay is experienced in HTML, JavaScript, Perl/cgi, and MySQL and has set up and managed e-Commerce
systems for several websites. She has also developed applications using the 3D GameStudio game engine. She
